Eagle Eye News

Cooler weather has rolled in, and the leaves are starting to change. This is the season we are reminded to be thankful for all we have been blessed with, and as the leaves begin to fall, perhaps to also remember that change can be beautiful.

Here is this week’s Eagle Eye and don’t miss out on a few important updates and announcements.

Our new After-School Care program kicks off this week and is available from 3:00-5:00 PM each day after school for after-school enrolled students. The cost for this service is $20 per day for the 1st student in the family, and $10 per additional enrolled sibling. To sign up for and begin using after-school care, please complete the After-School Care Contract and either email it to dcs@damascuscc.org or turn it into the school office. We are unable to take students in the program without a signed contract.

Our rescheduled day for Secondary School Pictures is this Thursday, October 3rd! If you have not already, feel free to order picture packets for your 7th – 12th graders by going to mylifetouch.com and using the same Picture Day ID EVTHMSXC.

Picture retakes will remain on Tuesday, October 15th for all grades. If your elementary student missed the original picture day, you should plan for their picture to be taken on our Oct. 15th retake day!

We successfully completed our first week of our new hot lunch program, featuring Chick-fil-A Mondays, Papa John’s Pizza Wednesdays, and Noodles & Co Fridays.  A Big Thank You to our parent volunteer Hot Lunch Bunch team! We still have some openings if you are looking for a place to volunteer. Contact Heidi Hale in the school office for details.

My Hot Lunchbox ordering is open for all available dates through December and closes at noon the day before each delivery date. Create a family account, add student profiles and start ordering! Don’t forget to Download the App! Here are a few additional details to help your My Hot Lunchbox experience go smoothly…

  • All orders much be edited, placed, or canceled by 12:00 PM local time the day before the scheduled delivery. Lunches cannot be canceled after this deadline.

  • If your student misses school on a day they have ordered hot lunch, you can contact the school office with instructions on what to do with the lunch, such as notifying that you will pick the lunch up, offering the lunch to a teacher or other student, or sending it home with a sibling.

  •  If there is a missing item or order issues, they must be reported to the school office during lunch hours (to be done by the classroom teacher or hot lunch volunteer team), and we will inform My Hot Lunchbox to facilitate immediate resolution.

Attention Secondary Students! Tomorrow morning your schedule will adjust slightly for your 1st period elective classes. In our last step at integrating our two campuses back into one and making schedules and room usage work, we will need to flip all our T/F and M/Th 1st period elective classes. So, your current Tuesday/Friday elective classes will not be on Monday/Thursday and vice-versa. Changes have been made in RenWeb and you can find your updated schedule through your family portal login.

Also, don’t forget Student Council will be bringing the StuCo Store to secondary lunchtime a couple of times a week starting this week, October 1st. Check out the StuCo Store menus posted around campus for current offerings.
