Our Soccer and Volleyball seasons are coming to an end. Take some time to support your favorite student athletes and teams by coming to some of the final games of the season! Get all the details on all that is happening in the weekly Eagle Eye.
School picture packets will be sent home with students on Monday and Tuesday is picture retake day! If you would like your student to have picture retakes, please send their picture packet back to school with them on Tuesday morning and email Heidi Hale with your student's need for picture retakes so we can make sure they are brought to the camera that day. Their packets will get turned into the photographer when their retake picture is taken. If your student missed picture day, they are already on our list to bring to the camera on Tuesday to have their picture taken.
This Friday evening, October 18th, come enjoy the fall fun of our Student Council sponsored annual Pumpkin Smash event from 5:30 to 7:00 PM! There will be pumpkin painting, pumpkin smashing, face painting, homemade caramel apples and more! StuCo will also be offering dinner concessions. Stop by for a pulled pork sandwich or hot dog. It’s also a great time to pop into the gym to support our elementary and junior high Lady Eagles volleyball teams (both are undefeated!) as they battle against Grandview Christian starting at 4:00 PM.
Looking for some fresh reading ideas? Here is the October Library Newsletter and come visit the library during our community hours after school on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for your students to browse and check out books, fostering their love of reading and learning.
You’re invited to join our DCS Alumni this Saturday, October 19th at 6:30 PM in the DCS Auditorium for a special concert with Christian Recording Artist Jonny Diaz, known for his hit songs "Breathe" and "More Beautiful You". The annual DCC/DCS Harvest Festival is coming up on Thursday, October 31st, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. This carnival-style festival provides hundreds of kids in our community with a fun and safe alternative to Halloween's trick-or-treating. The Harvest Festival houses over thirty games and booths, distributes thousands of pieces of candy, and welcomes many children who will experience the love of Christ through volunteers' joy and service. It is our largest outreach to children in our community! So, plan to bring your whole family and enjoy a fun-filled night!
To put on such an event...
We need volunteers to man the booths and food court. Volunteers will be showing God’s love and grace to all those in attendance.
We need to collect door prizes to raffle off during the event.
We need candy! This event would be nothing without the candy. Please donate bags of individually wrapped candy in the church foyer. Gently used toys can also be donated for the Toy Shoppe booth.
If you would like to contribute a small gift certificate from your business or would like to offer your services in manning a booth, please contact Zach and Rachel Davidson (503-290-9393). See you there!
