Eagle Eye News

So many fun activities and events this past week between field trips, the Pumpkin Smash, and Jonny Diaz concert. Someone new to our school this year was heard saying what a vibrant, active and fun environment our school is each day! With that said, make sure you are up on all that is happening in the weekly Eagle Eye. Our Fall high school sports teams are in their final week of regular season play and our JH Volleyball girls are heading into playoffs on Tuesday as the undefeated #1 seed!

Safety Concern – When dropping your students off in the morning it is vital to the safety of everyone that you either:

  1. Drive through the drop-off line and WAIT to drop your student off until you have rounded the corner to the south side of the gym and pulled alongside the curb

  2. Drive to the lower parking lot, park your car, and walk your student, using the crosswalk zones to the open gym doors on the south side.

DO NOT drop your student off while in the drop-off line before you have turned the corner to the south side of the gym and pulled alongside the curb. Do not drop your student off in the middle of the parking lot to avoid the drop-off line. Do not drop your student off while idling in any of the crosswalk zones.

Additionally, all students arriving late to school must be checked in at the school office before going to class. Elementary students need to be accompanied by an adult. DO NOT drop your elementary student off at the curb, or up near the portables if they are late.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our students and staff safe each morning!

Open Staff Positions – DCS is looking to fill a couple positions and will be taking applications for open positions. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact the school office.   Open positions include long-term substitute for Spanish and Assistant Track & Field Coaches.

The annual DCC/DCS Harvest Festival is coming up on Thursday, October 31st, from 5:00-8:00 P.M.  This carnival-style festival provides hundreds of kids in our community with a fun and safe alternative to Halloween's trick-or-treating.  The Harvest Festival houses over thirty games and booths, distributes thousands of pieces of candy, and welcomes many children who will experience the love of Christ through volunteers' joy and service.  It is our largest outreach to children in our community!  So, plan to bring your whole family and enjoy a fun-filled night!

To put on such an event...

  • We need volunteers to man the booths and food court. Volunteers will be showing God’s love and grace to all those in attendance.

  • We need to collect door prizes to raffle off during the event.

  • We need candy! This event would be nothing without the candy. Please donate bags of individually wrapped candy in the church foyer. Gently used toys can also be donated for the Toy Shoppe booth.

If you would like to contribute a small gift certificate from your business or would like to offer your services in manning a booth, please contact Zach and Rachel Davidson (503-290-9393).  See you there!
