Eagle Eye News

This week marks the final week of the 1st quarter. Make sure your student is current on all assignments, projects and tests before grades are finalized! Don’t forget to check out the latest Eagle Eye edition for the weekly schedule and upcoming dates. School will operate as normal this Thursday, October 31st. Please be aware, we do not participate in Halloween costume dress up during the school day. In the evening on October 31st, we encourage every family to come in costume for the Harvest Festival (see below for details)! Unless a teacher has planned a special activity, the school day on Halloween will be normal dress code expectations.

You will also want to pay special attention to the early release times for Friday’s half day this week. All elementary (1st-6th) students will be dismissed at 11:45 AM and all secondary (7th-12th) students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM.

Some additions and updates have been made to the School Calendar. You can always find the most up-to-date version (updated as of 10/24/24) on our website under resources & links!

Looking for a safe, fun alternative to Halloween Trick-or-Treating? Come to the annual DCC/DCS Harvest Festival in the DCS gym on Thursday night from 5:00-8:00 P.M.  Bring the whole family and enjoy a carnival-style festival with over thirty games and booths, lots of candy, and the love of Christ through volunteers' joy and service.

Were you planning to volunteer or donate items for the harvest festival? Don’t worry, there is still time to sign up to help out or donate candy, door prizes and toys! Questions? Contact Rachel Davidson at 503-290-9393.

Open Staff Positions – DCS is looking to fill a couple upcoming openings and are taking applications for open positions now. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact the school office.   Open positions include long-term substitute for Spanish and Assistant Track & Field Coaches.

DCS elementary classes will be working on collecting items for Operation Christmas Child from November 4th-7th.  This project blesses kids in need by sharing the gospel of Christ AND giving them a shoebox filled with gifts. Start planning now how you want to participate, either through a financial donation or by bringing items in to donate.
